A new vegan restaurant and coffee shop called The Underdog has opened in Co. Limerick.
It’s located in the heart of the city on Thomas Street and it’s been pegged as “a plant-based space to sit, eat and heal”. Everything is made in-house in front of your eyes in The Underdog’s open-plan kitchen.
The menus – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter – will change with the passing of the seasons. Whatever is locally sourced, chemical-free and organic is what’s on offer.
The Underdog has released a preview of their menu on their Facebook page, with mains and starters including a yellow curry with jasmine rice, and button mushroom soup with Guinness soda bread.
They also have some delicious desserts on offer, such as chocolate and orange cake, strawberry sponge cake with lime and coconut yogurt, and spiced pineapple and ginger cake with vanilla ice cream.
The front section of the restaurant is pet friendly, so feel free to bring along your furry friends.

Daytime hours –
Monday-Saturday: 8am-4pm
Sunday: 10am-4pm
Evening hours –
Monday: 6-10pm (Games Night)
Tuesday: 6pm-10pm (Speaking Event)
Wednesday: 6pm (1st & 3rd Wed Cinema Night)
Thursday: 6pm-10pm (A Smirch on the Silence)
Friday: 6pm-Late (Last sitting at 9pm)
