An Irish advertising firm has refused to place Go Vegan World posters on transport in what PlantBasedNews.org is calling “pro-dairy bias”.
Exterion Media Ireland exclusively carries ads on buses and trains around the country, and Go Vegan World has accused them of having “a preferential concern for the Irish dairy industry over the rights of the public to the information in the ads”.
The ad in question that was refused includes the statement: “Dairy takes babies from their mothers” and features cows and calves. The purpose of the ad is to remind people that cows and calves are animals capable of physical and emotional feelings.
Sandra Higgins, the founder and director of Go Vegan World, said in a statement to Plant Based News: “The refusal to carry Go Vegan World ads referring to dairy points to a very unhealthy situation wherein the only company carrying ads for Irish Bus and Rail appear to have a preferential concern for the Irish dairy industry over the right of the public to the facts contained in our ads. This refusal does a disservice to members of the public who have a right to the information contained in our ads.”
