Vegan App Start-Up Ready For Download

A vegan app start-up has launched and is ready for download.

The app, which is available across iOS and Android, allows vegans to communicate with others about vegan-friendly products and their whereabouts.

According to the Vegan Check website, the app is “a centralised access point helping you to get plant-based products and services based on your location”.

Users can share products which will help people to discover new vegan products, as well as to provide feedback for vegan services and vegan companies.

Irish Michelin Chefs Selling Vegan Gravy

Irish Michelin chefs Gavin Cassidy and Eoin Lennon are selling vegan-friendly gravy.

What sets Porter & Nash apart from the rest is that they’re made with kombu seaweed, a natural product with an “umami” flavour.

According to Vegconomist, the duo has received approval for EI competitive start funding after an initial €55,000 investent for the startup.

The gluten-free products come in three flavours so far; Roasted Garlic and Thyme Gravy, Roasted Veg Sauce, and Caramelised Onion and Balsamic Sauce.

Cork Veg Fest 2020 Cancelled Due To Covid-19

Cork VegFest has been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement on their website, organisers released the following statement:

It’s been a confusing and stressful time for everyone and we hope you are doing OK.

In the face of the Covid 19 outbreak and working with the measures against the spread of the disease. With the safety of everyone that would attend as a priority we have decided to cancel Cork Vegfest scheduled for 25/04/2020 at Cork City Hall. All ticket purchases will be refunded.

We have been working on a possible alternative date for later in the year. We will be able to confirm that only when we are certain that gatherings of our size are deemed safe to attend and it is viable.”

The organisers thank everyone for their support and urge people to continue social distancing.

Meanwhile, dates for Dublin VegFest have since been released as the 19th and 20th of September at Leinster Cricket Club.
